Autonomy
The association coordinates and safeguards, but never owns. The projects live through their members — through shared understanding and shared procedures.
The Swiss Digital Commons Association stands for open, sovereign, and transparent digital foundations. We safeguard the principles, the governance, and the openness that carry trust — without ever taking center stage.
Trust must not depend on individuals, corporations, brands, habits, or a good economic climate. It grows from the matter itself: from constancy, openness, verifiability, and independence.
We prioritize ideas, mental models, collaboration, and sustainability. Technology should be accessible to all and enable lasting scalability.
Economic viability and sovereignty are outcomes, not ends in themselves. They need no big events, but sound understanding, transparent direction, and the willingness to forgo any concentration of power.
The association coordinates and safeguards, but never owns. The projects live through their members — through shared understanding and shared procedures.
The association requires the projects it fosters to disclose not only their source code, but also the surrounding environment used directly to operate them. Everything thus becomes publicly verifiable — trust comes from proof, not from promises.
Development, operation, and decision-making stay deliberately separate. That prevents silent centralization, later intellectual-property disputes, and creeping commercialization. The association sees itself as an enabler, not an owner.
Swiss made for Europe: long-term support is tied to Swiss standards for origin, governance, and quality — built in from the start, not promised after the fact, with a clear audience and scaling.
