Privacy Policy
The Swiss Digital Commons Association takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what data we process when you visit this website, on what basis, and what rights you have. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Swiss Digital Commons Association Registered office in Switzerland E-mail: privacy@digitalcommons.ch
What data we process
This is a static website. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics or advertising scripts, and does not track visitors across pages or sites.
Server logs. The site is hosted on Codeberg Pages, operated by Codeberg e.V. (Germany). When you request a page, the hosting infrastructure may automatically record technical data in server logs — including your IP address, the requested page, the date and time, and your browser’s user agent. This processing is necessary to deliver the site and to maintain its security and stability (Art. 31 FADP / Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest).
Web fonts. Pages load the Manrope typeface from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When a font is fetched, your IP address is transmitted to Google LLC. We have no influence over this processing and use the service only to render the site consistently. If you wish to avoid it, you can block third-party font requests in your browser.
Membership data
If you apply for membership, the Board processes the data you provide (such as your name and contact details) to administer the membership relationship and to fulfil the association’s statutory obligations (Art. 31 FADP / Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). To protect the privacy of all members, the association does not publish a membership list. Details on joining are set out on the Membership page.
Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell or rent personal data. Data is disclosed only to the service providers needed to operate the website (such as our hosting provider and the font service named above), or where we are legally required to do so.
Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a limited period and then deleted.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable law, you have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you, and to request its correction, deletion, or restriction. Where the GDPR applies, you also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or the legal framework. The current version always applies; the date of the last update is shown above.
